It is notified for the information of the General Public that the following Traffic arrangements have been made for the ‘Beating the Retreat’ on 29th January 2026.
• The Carcade of Hon’ble Lt. Governor and other dignitaries who are holders of (GREEN) parking car “P” shall be parked inside Netaji Stadium.
• The vehicles of other dignitaries who are holders of (PINK) parking car “P” shall be parked near the Andaman Club and near parking in front of SAI Sports Hotel.
• The holders of car parking label “P” may use any route of their choice to approach the place of function but they are requested to reach the place of function latest by 1645 hrs failing which their vehicles will be stopped near Gymkhana crossing, R K Mission crossing and Fire Brigade (HQ) Crossing itself.
• The holders of “P-I” parking cards i.e., four wheelers/two wheelers will arrive at the Stadium via Model School-Clock Tower-Gymkhana crossing to Netaji Stadium. Thereafter the vehicles shall proceed to the parking place near Swimming pool, Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex, Tsunami Memorial complex towards Dignabad junction alongside the road. After the departure of all vehicles parked inside the Stadium and near Andaman Club and SAI Sports Hotel having “P” Parking labels, vehicles of label “P-I” will come to the main entrance of Netaji Stadium to pick up the guests and shall leave via South Hut Junction-Girls School Crossing-RK Mission and RGT Road along with their guests.
• After the departure of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor from the place of function, the vehicles bearing car parking label “P” shall follow the route through Scout Hut Junction-Vikas Bhawan (ANIIDCO)-Fire Brigade (HQ) Junction- Telephone Exchange Junction-APWD crossing to their destinations.
• All other vehicles without any parking label including two and four wheelers will be parked near Girls School.
• The vehicles intending to proceed to South Point from Aberdeen Bazar and vice versa shall be diverted towards Model School Crossing – APWD Crossing – Murugan Temple – Siddiqui Jn. – Shadipur Jn. from 1630 hrs onwards till completion of the function.
• No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed to Aberdeen Bazar after the function from any direction till the crowd gets dispersed.
• All the vehicular traffic shall remain suspended in the stretches from Y Narayan Junction to Dharamshala, Dharamshala to R K Mission and from Raj Niwas to Y Narayan Junction via Netaji Stadium from 1630 hrs to 1830 hrs, so that no obstruction is caused during the function.
• Private tourist boats carrying tourists, if any, from Aberdeen Jetty to NSCB Island, North Bay etc. should be shifted to Junglighat Jetty on 29th January 2026.
