Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 28: A solemn function will be organized in connection with 82nd Martyrdom Anniversary on 30th January, 2026 at the ‘Balidan Vedi’ in the State Martyr’s Memorial Homfreygunj. On Jan. 30, 1944 Japanese Imperial Forces killed 44 innocent islanders at this site who were arrested on false spy charges. Floral tributes will be offered by dignitaries and religious prayer will be conducted at the Memorial.
