
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 28: The Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), Ms. Chanchal Yadav, IAS, today inaugurated Tent Library at GDMS (Primary), Middle Point as the chief guest, in the presence of the guest of honour, Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Education). The State Library under the Directorate of Education, has established the Tent Library which aims to promote reading habits among children through a child-friendly reading and learning environment at grass root level.
During the event, the Commissioner-cum-Secretary interacted with students, reviewed the Tent Library facilities, and appreciated the initiative aimed at encouraging young learners to develop a love for reading in a relaxed and informal environment. The guest of honour commended the efforts of the State Library and highlighted the importance of such creative initiatives in strengthening reading culture at the primary level.
The Tent Library provides children with access to storybooks and reading materials in an open, welcoming setting designed to make reading an enjoyable experience. The initiative reflects the Directorate of Education’s commitment to promoting literacy and lifelong learning among students. The programme concluded with student interactions and a brief tour of the Tent Library.
