PM Vishwakarma Trade Fair by Branch MSME-DFO Gets Underway at ITF Ground

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 28: The PM Vishwakarma Trade Fair organised by the Branch MSME–DFO, under the Ministry of MSME got underway at ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram today. The trade fair has been organized under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme with the objective of promoting traditional artisans, craftsmen, and small entrepreneurs by providing them with a direct market platform. Ms. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary (Industries) inaugurated the fair in the presence of Shri Atul Soni, Director, Directorate of Industries, Shri Umar Farooq, Chief Manager, UTLBC, Shri Pratap, DGM, NABARD, Shri G. K. Sinha, Assistant Director (In-charge), Branch MSME–DFO, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Multiple cultural programmes, including traditional dance and singing performances by Alpha Musical Group and Kranthi Brothers were also organized during the inaugural ceremony, adding vibrancy and cultural richness to the event.

A total of 70 stalls have been set up under the PM Vishwakarma initiative, showcasing a wide range of locally made products by artisans and micro-entrepreneurs. The event witnessed a large turnout of visitors, reflecting strong public interest and support for indigenous products and traditional skills.

The trade fair aims to enable artisans to sell their products directly to consumers, gain market exposure, enhance income opportunities, and strengthen economic self-reliance in line with the objectives of the Ministry of MSME.

The PM Vishwakarma Trade Fair will continue for the next two days, on 29th January and 30th January, 2026. The general public have been invited to visit the trade fair and support local artisans and entrepreneurs, thereby promoting traditional skills and local enterprises.
