Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 30: In its continued effort to cultivate a love for reading among young learners, the State Library under the Directorate of Education, inaugurated its second Tent Library at Govt. Primary School, Garacharma today, marking another milestone in promoting child-friendly learning spaces at the grassroots level.
Smt. Archana Singh, Deputy Director Education (Planning), inaugurated the Tent Library as the chief guest, in the presence of Smt. Jothi, Vice Principal, PM SHRI GSSS Garacharma, Headmistress, GPS Garacharma and the Incharge, State Library.
During the inaugural programme, a Glove Puppetry Act was performed by Ms. Shivani Ghosh, PST, GSSS Garacharma, for the children which added an element of fun and creativity to the event and helped generate interest among young learners.
The Tent Library offers access to storybooks and age-appropriate reading materials in an open and informal setting, encouraging children to read freely and joyfully. The initiative reflects the Directorate of Education’s continued commitment to strengthening reading culture and fostering lifelong learning among primary school students.
