Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 1: The Department of Tourism, A&N Administration has invited applications from interested individuals, Astro Tourism Operators/Organisers for conducting stargazing activities during night at South Andaman as well as the N&M Andaman Districts.
1) N&M Andaman: Karmatang Beach, Mayabunder. Ramnagar Beach, Diglipur.
2) South Andaman: Beodnabad, Burmanallah & Kodiyaghat (sea-shore area). Viper Island.
The objective of this Star Gazing activity is to promote Astro Tourism as an eco-friendly and sustainable activity that generates income and employment opportunities. It promotes local astro tourism operators who adhere to the principles of sustainable tourism and conservation. Further, it also aims to encourage research & collaboration among astro tourists, local communities, and scientific institutions to enhance knowledge of various celestial bodies.
Interested applicants willing to organise stargazing activities for tourists and Astro Enthusiasts to promote Astro Tourism can submit their applications in writing to the Directorate of IP&T, A & N Administration, on or before 10th February, 2026.
