
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 01: Four more young chess players from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have opened international FIDE ratings, as per the February 2026 Rating List released by the World Chess Federation yesterday evening.
The players are AFM B. Vignesh, AFM Saw Jinson Samuel, ACM Agrima Singh, and ACM Nuhaan Siddique V K.
AFM B. Vignesh opened his classical rating at 1620 following a strong performance in a FIDE-rated tournament in Andhra Pradesh, while AFM Saw Jinson Samuel secured his first classical rating at 1532 and ACM Agrima Singh opened her classical rating at 1403 through good performances at the 14th National School Chess Championship 2025 held in Assam, while ACM Nuhaan Siddique V K, an Under-07 player, opened his FIDE Blitz rating at 1525 after performing well in a FIDE-rated blitz tournament held in Assam.
The Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) congratulated the players on their achievement and wished them continued success in future competitions.
