Three-Day Theatre Festival to be Organised as Part of the 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsav

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 2: As part of the 25th Bharat Rang Mahotsav – International Theatre Festival of India, the National School of Drama, (NSD) New Delhi, in collaboration with the Directorate of Art & Culture, A&N Administration, will be organizing a three-day theatre festival in the Dr. B R Ambedkar Auditorium, SVPMC, Sri Vijaya Puram. This prestigious three-day event will be held from February 13 to 15, 2026, bringing world-class theatrical performances to the islands. The festival will feature three captivating plays in Hindi, performed by the NSD Repertory Company from New Delhi, showcasing the rich diversity of Indian theatre.

Accordingly, on February 13, a play titled ‘Tajmahal Ka Tender’ (written by Shri Ajay Shukla and directed by Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy) will be staged at 6 PM. On February 14, ‘Mai Ri Main Ka Se Kahun’ (written by Shri Vijaydan Detha and directed by Shri Ajay Kumar) will be staged at 6 PM. On February 15, audience can see the play ‘Babuji’ (written by Shri Mithileshwar, adapted by Shri Vibhanshu Vaibhav, and directed by Shri Rajesh Singh) at 6 PM.

This collaboration highlights the commitment of both the organizations to promote cultural exchange and artistic excellence in remote regions like the A&N Islands. The National School of Drama is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. The NSD organizes the annual Bharat Rang Mahotsav, India’s largest theatre festival, featuring national and international productions.

Entry to the performances is free on all three days.
