Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 3: World Wetlands Day, 2026 with the theme: ‘Wetland and Traditional Knowledge: Celebrating Cultural Heritage’, was celebrated by Wildlife Division, Sri Vijaya Puram yesterday by involving students from MES Senior Secondary School, Azad Nagar and St. Mary’s Sr. Sec. School, Bathubasti, with the objective of sensitizing young minds about wetland conservation.
The students were briefed about wetlands, their ecological significance, and the need for their protection. The interactive session helped students gain first-hand knowledge about wetland ecosystems and biodiversity. In addition, slogan writing and painting competitions were organized at MES Senior Secondary School to promote environmental awareness among the student.
