Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 8: The Andaman & Nicobar State Legal Services Authority (A&N SLSA) organized a Legal Awareness Programme at Saraswati Shishu Mandir Senior Secondary School, Pathergudda, on the topic of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006.
The programme was graced by Shri Rashid Alam, Member Secretary, A&N State Legal Services Authority. The session was conducted by Ms. Anoushka Singh, Advocate, and Ms. K. Bhawani, Advocate, who sensitized the students on child rights and legal safeguards.
During the programme, the concepts of good touch and bad touch were explained in an age-appropriate manner. An awareness video prepared by the A&N State Legal Services Authority on child safety was also screened to enhance understanding among the students.
The programme witnessed active participation from the students and teaching staff of the school and was held in the presence of Shri V. D. Siva Balan, Advocate, Secretary of the School, and Shri A. Raja Marthandan, Principal of the School.
