Nikita Dutta and Rahul Bose Participate as Celebrity Guests
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 8: The 10th edition of the ‘Andaman Marathon–2026’, organised by the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ANCCI), Sri Vijaya Puram, in association with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, was conducted on Feb. 8. The event was flagged off from the historic National Memorial Cellular Jail by Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The participants competed across various categories with remarkable zeal and sportsman spirit, vying for a total prize money of Rs. 10,05,000, in addition to special cash prizes.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor lauded ANCCI and the sponsors for organising the mega sporting event and thanked noted actor Shri Rahul Bose for his participation and continued support. He also congratulated all the runners and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence through sports and fitness.
The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, expressed his happiness over the overwhelming response from both islanders and mainland participants, stating that such massive participation serves as a strong motivation for promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Ms. Nikita Dutta, Actress & Runner, Renowned Actor, Shri Rahul Bose also addressed the participants and encouraged them. The prize distribution ceremony was held at Netaji Stadium, the finishing point of the marathon, where the Chief Secretary and other dignitaries felicitated the winners and runners-up.
