Traffic to be Diverted in View of Ongoing Annual Pooja of Goddess Devi Sree Muthumarimman

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 22: In exercise of the powers conferred under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Act No. 59 of 1988), read with the Administration’s Notification No. /2008/F.No.32-95/2008-TR dated 10th March, 2008 and in view of the ongoing Annual Pooja-2026 of Goddess Devi Sree Muthumarimman at Austinabad Temple from 15th to 25th February, 2026 and in view of the sacred fire walk on 23.02.2026 followed by Maha Annadanam on 24.02.2026, the District Magistrate, South Andaman District, has issued the following notification to ensure smooth regulation of vehicular movement and to prevent traffic congestion in and around the temple area:

Date: 23.02.2026 from 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs

-No vehicles shall be allowed to proceed towards Goddess Devi Sree Muthumariamman Temple, Austinabad from Prothrapur Junction, Mazarpahad Junction, New Pahargaon and Corbyn’s Chowk Junction.

-The road leading from Pathergudda Junction to Corbyn’s Chowk via Old Sapna Theatre shall remain open for vehicular movement.

-Vehicles intending to proceed to Brookshabad/Chakkargaon from Bathubasti and vice versa shall use the diversion from Pathergudda Junction to Corbyn’s Chowk via Old Sapna Theatre and vice versa.

Date: 24.02.2026 from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs

-No vehicles shall be allowed to proceed towards Goddess Devi Sree Muthumariamman Temple, Austinabad from Prothrapur Junction and Corbyn’s Chowk Junction.

-The road leading from Pathergudda Junction to Corbyn’s Chowk via Old Sapna Theatre shall remain open for vehicular movement.
