Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Roll: Total Electorate of A&N Islands Stands at 2,58,040

64,014 Ineligible Electors Removed from the Draft Roll

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 21: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Roll-2026, with reference to 01.01.2026 as the qualifying   date, was conducted in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 27.10.2025 to 21.02.2026. The Final Electoral Roll has been published on 21.02.2026.

The revision exercise involved 100% physical verification of electors through enumeration forms delivered and collected personally by Booth Level Officers. This comprehensive exercise has resulted in the identification and deletion of a substantial number of ineligible electors, including deceased persons, electors who have permanently shifted to other States/UTs and cases of duplicate enrolments.

The draft roll was published on 23.12.2025 after the Enumeration Phase under SIR. Out of the 3,10,404 electors enrolled in the Electoral Roll as on 27.10.2025, a total of 64,014 ineligible electors have been removed from the draft roll. Subsequently, the statutory period for filing Claims and Objections was conducted from 23.12.2025 to 22.01.2026, during which 16,919 were added and 5,269 ineligible electors were deleted. Accordingly, the Final Electoral Roll-2026 has been published on 21.02.2026 with an updated and validated list of eligible electors.

The details of Form-6 (Form for inclusion)/Form 6A (Form for inclusion of overseas electors), Form 8 (for electors who shifted from other states) for inclusion /shifting within the state) received and admitted and Form-7 (Form for deletion) received and admitted for deletion are furnished below:

The final electorate as on 21.02.2026 is 2,58,040 of which the number of electors in the age group of 18-19 years is 4070, electors marked as Person with Disability is 2252 and elderly electors (85+) are 679.

The Final Electoral Roll-2026 is displayed at all Polling Stations on 21.02.2026 and 22.02.2026. Further, the Final Roll will be available for public inspection at the Voter Facilitation Centres in the offices of the Electoral Registration Officer and Office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer for seven days from 21.02.2026 excluding holidays.

First time electors in the age group of 18-19 years and existing electors who have shifted to Andaman & Nicobar Islands and applied for corrections will be issued EPICs through the BLOs to their residential address.

Those who have completed 18 years as on 01.01.2026 and failed to apply for inclusion during the Special Intensive Revision and the prospective electors completing 18 years on 01.04.2026, 01.07.2026 and 01.10.2026 can apply online through https://voters.eci.gov.in or ECINET mobile App or through the Booth Level Officer (BLO) concerned.

Electors are advised to verify their names in the Electoral Roll and if required, submit applications for inclusion (Form-6), Correction (Form-8) or deletion (Form-7) through online or offline modes.

Appeals under section 24 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950: An appeal shall lie from any decision of the ERO to the District Magistrate u/s 24(a) of the RP Act, 1950 and a second appeal under Section 24(b) against the decision of the first Appellate authority shall lie to the Chief Electoral Officer, in the manner prescribed under Rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
