Mayabunder, March 3: The Operation Theatre (OT) team of Dr. R P Hospital, Mayabunder conducted a series of continuous emergency surgeries, demonstrating prompt response and dedicated teamwork in handling critical maternal cases yesterday. The first case involved an emergency Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS) for a referred patient from Diglipur. The patient was at 39 weeks of pregnancy and diagnosed with oligohydramnios (reduced amniotic fluid). Timely surgical intervention ensured the safe delivery of the baby and stabilization of the mother.
The second case was a primigravida with footling breech presentation in PPROM (Preterm Premature Rupture of Membranes) complicated by sepsis. Considering the critical condition, the team immediately proceeded with emergency surgical management, preventing further maternal and neonatal complications. The third case was an emergency laparotomy for a 7-week ectopic pregnancy referred from CHC Rangat. The patient was in a critical condition, and swift surgical intervention was carried out to save her life. The OT team was led by Dr. Meenakshi C.K., Gynecologist, and Dr. Hosanna Sharon, Anesthetist, who managed three high-risk emergency cases without interruption.
All three surgeries were performed, highlighting the preparedness and efficiency of the OT team at Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder.
