Baratang, March 18: A mock fire drill was conducted by Fire Station Baratang at ANIIDCO Petrol Pump, Baratang, to assess response time, firefighting efficiency and staff coordination. The scenario involved a fire at the fuel dispenser line during diesel refilling into a 40 KL underground tank. The team responded promptly, reaching the site within 3 minutes of the call.
Fire-fighting was initiated using a delivery hose and foam compound and the fire was extinguished efficiently. A post-drill session covered safety protocols, key learnings and basic training on first aid and firefighting equipment.
The drill saw participation from staff, management and the public, enhancing awareness, preparedness and adherence to safety norms at fuel stations.
