Bid to Promote Adventure Tourism in A&N Islands, Director IP&T Inaugurates ‘Fly Board’ at Swaraj Dweep

Swaraj Dweep, March 18: In a step towards promoting adventure tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a new water sports activity “Fly Board” was inaugurated today at Elephant Beach, Swaraj Dweep by Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Director (IP&T), A&N Administration, in the presence of officials of the Directorate of IP&T and representatives of water sports operators. The introduction of this new adventure activity marks another milestone in strengthening the Islands’ reputation as a premier adventure tourism destination.

The Fly Board activity has been introduced as an exciting addition to the adventure water sports portfolio of the Islands, offering a unique leisure experience for tourists. In this activity, a rider is propelled above the sea surface through powerful water jets connected to a personal watercraft, enabling aerial manoeuvres while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding waters. All prescribed safety measures, deployment of trained personnel, and use of certified equipment have been ensured in accordance with the existing guidelines of the Administration.

The Directorate of IP&T has made concerted efforts to introduce innovative and high-adrenaline activities to attract both domestic and international tourists, thereby generating employment opportunities for local youth and fostering the growth of responsible adventure tourism in the Islands.

The introduction of Fly Boarding is expected to add a new dimension to the water sports offerings of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and further enhance the overall tourist experience.
