Sri Vijaya Puram, March 20: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri Rangalal Halder, has addressed a letter to the Director of Health Services (DHS), urged immediate intervention to provide treatment facilities for HBsAg positive dialysis patients at CHC, Bambooflat.
In his letter, Shri Halder highlighted the pressing difficulties faced by patients from Bambooflat and adjoining areas who are currently dependent on GB Pant Hospital for HBsAg positive dialysis treatment. He pointed out that around five patients from the region are undergoing such treatment at GB Pant Hospital due to the absence of the required facility at CHC Bambooflat.
He further noted that patients are compelled to endure long waiting hours and queues at GB Pant Hospital, which adds to their physical and mental stress. The situation becomes even more challenging as patients often complete their dialysis sessions late in the evening, making their return journey to Bambooflat extremely difficult and exhausting.
Shri Halder emphasized that the non-availability of HBsAg positive dialysis services at CHC Bambooflat is causing significant hardship to already ailing patients. He stressed that establishing this facility locally would not only reduce the burden on GB Pant Hospital but also ensure timely and accessible healthcare for residents of Bambooflat and nearby areas.
In view of these concerns, Shri Halder has earnestly requested the Director, DHS, to take necessary steps to provide HBsAg positive dialysis treatment at CHC Bambooflat at the earliest in the larger interest of public health and patient welfare.
