Directorate of Social Welfare to Conduct Series of Awareness Programmes Under UDID Scheme

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 25: In an initiative to enhance awareness and facilitate access to Government benefits for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), the Directorate of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Composite Regional Centre (CRC), and Child Development Project Office (CDPO), will be organizing a series of Awareness Programmes under the Unique Disability ID (UDID) Scheme across South Andaman. The UDID Scheme aims to create a National database for Persons with Disabilities and issue Unique Disability Identity Card, which will enable easy access to various Government schemes, benefits and its services. These awareness programmes are being conducted to educate the general public, especially Persons with Disabilities and their families, about the importance of UDID registration, its benefits, and the process involved. Medical Officers and experts will also be present to guide and assist the participants.

The general public are hereby requested to attend the awareness programmes at venues and timings mentioned below and make maximum use of this opportunity:

2nd April, 2026 (10 am-12 noon): GB Pant Hospital

08th April, 2026 (10 am-12 noon): PHC Garacharma

15th April, 2026: PHC Mangulatan (9 am-10.30 am), PHC Chouldari (11:00 am-12:30 pm)

29th April, 2026    PHC Tushnabad (9:00 am-10:30 am)

PHC Ferrargunj (11 am-12.30 pm)

13th May, 2026 (10 am-12 noon): PHC Bambooflat

20th May, 2026 (10 am-12 noon): Ayush Hospital, Junglighat

All persons, caregivers, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) have been encouraged to attend and participate actively. Wide participation will ensure better outreach and inclusion of beneficiaries under the UDID Scheme.
