Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 27: As part of the nationwide initiative ‘Aap Ki Poonji, Aap Ka Adhikar’ (Your Money, Your Right), a mega Facilitation Camp is being organised by Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee (UTLBC), A&N Islands, in the Conference Hall of SBI RSETI, 2nd Floor, SBI Complex on Nov. 28 from 3 PM to help citizens to trace and reclaim their long pending financial assets. This camp is part of three months awareness cum disbursement campaign launched by Department of Financial Services (DFS) in coordination with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and financial sector regulators like IRDAI and SEBI.
The purpose of this camp is to facilitate the settlement of unclaimed bank deposits, dormant insurance amounts, inactive mutual funds and dividend proceeds, unclaimed shares and other unclaimed or inactive financial assets held across various financial institutions. The nationwide campaign aims to ensure that every rupee saved by citizens can be rightfully claimed by them or by their legal heirs and nominees. The initiative aims to expedite the settlement of unclaimed deposits and enhance public awareness on reclaiming dormant financial assets.
The program will be graced by Regional Manager, State Bank of India, officials from RBI, IRDAI, LIC India and all banks.
As per the data submitted by Banks as on 31.08.2025 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 74,487 accounts amounting to Rs. 44.69 Cr are lying unclaimed in Depositors Education and Awareness Fund (DEA Fund).
During the camp, on the spot verification and settlement of eligible claims related to unclaimed deposits, insurance proceeds, mutual fund units, pension dues, and other financial assets.
Union Territory Level Bankers’ Committee has appealed to the citizens of A&N Islands for wide participation and to take advantage of this public welfare initiative.
