Diglipur, Feb. 6: The Administration has accorded sanction for the improvement of water supply infrastructure in parts of Sitanagar village at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.66 crore. The sanctioned work includes the construction of one Clear Water Reservoir (CWR) with a capacity of 3.65 lakh litres and two Overhead Tanks (OHTs) of 1.05 lakh litres capacity each. The project also covers the complete work of connecting the newly constructed water tanks with the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) along with pumping arrangements.
On completion, the project is expected to significantly improve the availability and reliability of water supply in parts of Sitanagar village. The initiative is part of the Administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen water supply infrastructure and ensure daily water supply to the public.
The Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) is implementing the project with the objective of enhancing service delivery and meeting the growing water demand in the area.
The general public have been advised to use water judiciously, as water is a precious resource and its availability tends to reduce during the summer months.
