A&N Administration Marks its Remarkable Presence by Setting Up Informative and Visually Captivating Exhibition Stall at India Maritime Week – 2025 in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct. 30: The A&N Administration is making its remarkable presence felt at the ongoing India Maritime Week- 2025, being held at Mumbai from 24th to 31st October, 2025, by setting up an informative and visually captivating exhibition stall. The stall is highlighting the Administration’s ambitious initiatives and developmental projects aimed at transforming the Andaman & Nicobar Islands into a vibrant maritime and tourism blue economy hub.

The stall is showcasing the Islands growing potential as India’s eastern maritime frontier and an emerging hub for Ports, shipping, fisheries and sustainable tourism in the Bay of Bengal.

Highlights of the exhibition-

Ports & Shipping: Modernization of Port Infrastructure and expansion of harbour sector, foreshore sector, inter island and mainland island sector shipping services including passenger cargo operations and digital port operations. The immense potential of Constructing yacht marinas and cruise terminals turned out to be an investor treat.

Tourism and Cruise promotion: Visuals of the Islands scenic beauty, diving destinations, inviting investments and collaboration in in ecofriendly maritime and coastal tourism. There was an overwhelming response on the emphasis made towards developing Sri Vijaya Puram as a future cruise tourism hub connecting the Island to regional circuits in South-East Asia.

Fisheries Development: Immense potential of the Islands rich marine resources and the Administration initiatives to deep sea fishing, cold chain infrastructure, and fish processing units. The concept of establishing a Tuna Cluster and various Blue Economy initiatives such as Open Sea Cage culture, Seaweed farming and Pearl culture were also showcased, reflecting the Administration’s focus on value-added fisheries and sustainable marine resource management.

The Smart Integrated Harbour at Mayabunder drew wide attention from visitors and industry stakeholders for its modern design of Blue, Green and Smart components, focus on multimodal connectivity, sustainability, and economic integration.

Adding an experiential dimension to the display, a Virtual Reality (VR) presentation offered visitors an immersive tour of the proposed Nancowrie Harbour and upcoming tourism infrastructure projects, giving them a glimpse of the Islands’ future-ready maritime ecosystem.

The exhibition attracted enthusiastic participation from visitors, including senior officials from various Ministries, maritime organizations, port authorities, entrepreneurs from the maritime and tourism sectors, industry stakeholders and students from shipping and fisheries institutes apart from general public. The visitors appreciated the Islands balanced approach to development combining connectivity and commerce with ecological preservation.

The stall also received several investment inquiries from prospective investors in the tourism, port development, and blue economy sectors, signalling growing confidence in the Administration’s forward-looking policies and investor-friendly environment. The brochures depicting economic potential and possibilities of investment under various sectors in A&N Islands is also being distributes through the stall.

The A&N Islands participation in the India Maritime Week 2025, represents the confluence of India’s maritime strength, fisheries wealth and tourism potential. Through initiatives in port development, blue economy and eco-tourism, the A&N Administration’s aim to transform the islands into a vibrant hub of trade, livelihood and sustainable growth.
