Diglipur, Aug 31: Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) launched the first phase of the Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme (EOP) for 2025 at Diglipur on 30 Aug 25. Conducted every year, this initiative reinforces ANC’s enduring connect with Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard Veterans, focusing on their welfare, preventive healthcare and timely resolution of concerns.
The event was inaugurated by Rear Admiral Biplab Hota, VSM, Chief of Staff, ANC, and witnessed participation of more than 100 Veterans and their dependents from Diglipur, Mayabunder and Ariel Bay. A comprehensive medical camp by specialist doctors and healthcare teams was organised that provided preventive check-ups, counseling and health awareness to the veteran community. Following the event at Diglipur, the outreach team is scheduled to proceed to Rangat and Baratang, further extending ANC’s connect with Veterans and families across remote communities of North and Middle Andamans.
The ESM Outreach Programme 2025 will be conducted in four phases across the archipelago. After the first phase in North and Middle Andamans, the second phase will be held at Campbell Bay in Great Nicobar Islands, the third phase will cover Kamorta and the Nancowrie group of Islands, while the final phase will be conducted at Sri Vijaya Puram.
As part of ANC’s annual outreach, this year’s edition builds upon the success of previous programmes and further expands its reach to distant island communities. Through this sustained effort, ANC reaffirms its commitment to the welfare and well-being of its Veterans and Veer Nari’s, honouring their service to the nation and ensuring they remain an integral part of the defence fraternity.
