
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 22: In a significant step towards strengthening birding activities, research, and community involvement in avian conservation across the islands, the Andaman Avians Club (AAC) convened its 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM), during which the new committee for the term 2025–2027 was officially constituted.
The meeting, attended by active members and representatives of the club, was held on 28th October 2025 at Megapode Resort where the following office bearers were unanimously elected to serve for the next two years.

Managing Committee
1. President: Dr. Ashwini Kr. Malle
2. Vice-President: Mrs. Asha Rajan
3. General Secretary: G. Thikanna
4. Joint Secretary: Padumma Gohain
5. Treasurer: Ram Vikas
Committee Members: P Divya Prasad, Harsimran Singh, Reuben K Paul
The newly formed committee reaffirmed its commitment to promoting bird conservation, awareness programs, bird festivals, and youth engagement in ornithology and nature education across the Andaman Islands. The club also plans to strengthen collaborations with local institutions and environmental bodies for sustainable eco-tourism and conservation research.
