Andaman & Nicobar Police Showcases Un-Armed Combat Demonstration on 74th Raising Day

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 20: As part of the celebrations marking the 74th Raising Day of Andaman & Nicobar Police, a spectacular and inspiring Un-Armed Combat (UAC) Demonstration was organised today on 20th January 2026 at the historic Flag Point, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The event showcased the exceptional discipline, courage, physical fitness, and mental resilience of police personnel trained at the Police Training School, Prothrapur. The demonstration highlighted the philosophy of modern policing based on the principle of “Minimum Force, Maximum Control”, reinforcing the humane, citizen-friendly, and professional approach of the force.

The UAC demonstration commenced with Basic Combat Techniques, including punches, blocks, kicks, and movement drills, followed by a highly synchronised KATA performance reflecting precision, balance, and control. A breathtaking Ice Breaking Demonstration illustrated the power of mental strength and determination, while a series of Mat Work Demonstrations depicted real-life defence techniques such as knife attack defence, stick attack defence, neck grip defence, arrest lock techniques, and weapon defence.

The highlight of the event was the Fire Ring Jumping Demonstration, symbolising fearlessness, confidence, and unwavering commitment to duty, which drew loud applause from the audience.

Senior officers, distinguished guests, and members of the public witnessed the programme and appreciated the high standards of training and professionalism displayed by the personnel. The demonstration reaffirmed the readiness of Andaman & Nicobar Police to effectively respond to challenges while maintaining restraint, discipline, and respect for human rights.

The programme concluded with a message emphasising that true strength lies not in weapons, but in discipline, training, self-control, and dedication to service.
