APWD Conducts Water Conservation Awareness Programme at Rangat

Rangat, March 5: A Water Conservation Awareness Programme was successfully conducted by the team of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD), Rangat, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium recently. The programme aimed to sensitize the general public about the importance of conserving water resources and promoting responsible water usage.

Several cultural programmes were presented during the event to highlight the significance of water conservation and the judicious use of water. A theatrical performance was also staged to effectively communicate the message of conserving water for present and future generations.

During the programme, it was also informed that a dedicated control room number has been established to ensure zero leakage in the water supply system and to receive complaints related to water supply. This initiative aims to enable prompt action and quick redressal of issues faced by the public.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Engineer, APWD, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, Up-Adhyaksh, and the Pramukh emphasized on the importance of water conservation and the responsible use of water resources. They appreciated the initiative taken by APWD for organizing such an awareness programme and suggested that similar programmes should be conducted in every Panchayat to spread awareness at the grassroots level.

The programme witnessed active participation from local residents, Panchayat representatives, and officials, making the event a meaningful step toward promoting water conservation in the region.
