Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 26: In continuation of the National Sports Day 2025 celebrations commemorating the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, in collaboration with the Department of Education, organized Basketball (Men’s Open) and Football Tournaments.
In the Basketball Men’s Open Knockout Tournament, the 1st semi-final match was played between APF and Kamaraj which was won by APF by 45-07 and in the 2nd semi-final match, Minnie Bay Tiger defeated Fight to Win by 36-13. These matches were played at Minnie Bay Command Multi-Purpose Hall.
In the Football Men’s Open Knockout Tournament, the 1st semi-final match was played between Nayagaon and USC. The match was won by USC by 2-0 and in the 2nd semi-final match, AB-XI defeated Birsa Munda team by 3-0.
The following tournaments are scheduled for 27th & 28th August, 2025:

2. Archery (Range-30Mtrs & 20Mtrs) – Netaji Stadium 09:00 AM – 27.08.2025
3. Football (Open Women) Finals – JNRM Football Ground – 02:30 PM – 27.08.2025
4. Football (Open Men) Finals – 03:30 PM – 27.08.2025
5. Archery (Range-50Mtrs & 30Mtrs) – Netaji Stadium 09:00 AM – 28.08.2025
Note: The above tournaments will be conducted subject to the weather condition
All discipline-wise participants have been requested to be present on time and showcase their sporting talent.
