Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: The first phase of Census of India 2027—House-listing and Housing Census has already commenced in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from April 1, 2026 with Self Enumeration as a special privilege rendered to the general public. Thereafter, from 16th April, 2026 to 15 May, 2026 the Houselisting Operation would continue in the field by collection of data from the Households by the Enumerator. This time, the census will be conducted entirely through digital means with the help of Web portal and mobile Apps.
During this period of Self-Enumeration, any member of household can visit the portal https://se.census.gov.in to digitally record their family details themselves. Upon completing the Self-Enumeration process, a unique ‘Self-Enumeration ID’ will be generated, which must be provided to the enumerator when they visit the household for verification and authentication.
The Self-Enumeration facility is a secure, simple and time-saving process. It offers every Household the convenience of submitting their details from the comfort of their homes, thereby facilitating the timely and smooth execution of the census operations.
The Directorate of Census Operations, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, appeals to the general public of this Union Territory to avail maximum use of this Self-Enumeration facility which would be available till 15th April, 2026 only. The active participation in the 1st phase of Census 2027 is of utmost contribution to the progress of the Nation.
