Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 28: The Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri L. Kumar, IAS, has appealed to all electors of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to submit the Enumeration Forms distributed by the Booth Level Officers during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls before December 4, 2025.
Electors are advised that those who fail to submit the Enumeration Form by the deadline will not have their names included in the Draft Electoral Roll, which is scheduled to be published on December 9, 2025.
CEO further clarified that:
•Even forms containing only the first part filled in and signed will be considered valid, provided they are submitted to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) before the deadline.
•Electors who are unable to locate or verify their names or their parents/ grandparents name in the last SIR roll, should immediately submit the Enumeration Form to the BLO to ensure inclusion in the draft roll to be published on 09.12.2025.
It has also been informed that the enumeration forms could not be distributed to some electors despite three door-to-door visits by BLOs. Such electors too will not feature in the draft roll unless they proactively collect and submit the form before December 4, 2025.
Electors whose names do not appear in the draft roll will have the opportunity to apply during the Claims and Objections Period, which will be remain open from December 9, 2025 to January 8, 2026. During this period:
•Eligible electors may apply for inclusion using Form-6 along with a mandatory declaration Form.
•Applications for correction or shifting electors may also be submitted using Form -8.
•Objections to existing entries may be made by any elector of the same constituency.
The Notice and Hearing Phase will be conducted from December 9, 2025 to January 31, 2026, during which notices will be issued and hearings scheduled wherever required. After disposal of all claims and objections, the Final Electoral Roll will be published on February 7, 2026.
The CEO emphasized that the ongoing enumeration exercise is a crucial step to ensure an error-free and inclusive electoral roll. Electors who have already received the forms are urged to submit them without delay and avoid waiting until the last date to prevent last-minute inconvenience.
The CEO appealed to all eligible electors to extend full cooperation and actively participate in the democratic process by submitting their duly filled Enumeration Forms to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) or at the help desks at the offices of the DEO/AERO at the earliest. In case of any difficulty, electors may contact their Booth Level Officers or call the Voter Helpline Number 1950.
