Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 4: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, inaugurated the newly constructed Tourist Information Counter (TIC) at Veer Savarkar International Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram, today. The facility has been established by the Department of Tourism in a 15-square-metre area provided by the Airport Authority of India, with the objective of enhancing tourist facilitation and convenience.
The inaugural function was attended by Ms. Chanchal Yadav, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (IP&T); Smt. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Secretary (IP&T); and Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Director (IP&T), along with officials from the Tourism Department and the Airport Authority of India.
The Tourist Information Counter will serve as a one-stop centre to provide visitors with comprehensive information on various tourist attractions, travel routes, accommodation options, and activities across the Islands. By offering immediate assistance and guidance to tourists upon arrival, the initiative aims to further promote a welcoming and tourist-friendly environment in the Islands.
