Sri Vijaya Puram, May 26: Due to continuous rain on May 24 & 25, 2025, two main gravity pipe line from Dhanikhari Dam (500mm D.I line supplying raw water to Garacharma Treatment Plant and 500mm dia CI pipeline supplying raw water to Old Plant at Lamba Line) have got dislocated due to landslide at Sippighat area. Hence, both lines were closed from Dhanikari Dam and presently repair and restoration work is under progress. It is expected that repair and restoration work will be completed by late evening of 26.05.2025.
Therefore, water supply was affected in Police Line, All India Radio and Rachi Basti Command Tank connected to Lamba Line Water Treatment Plant and Garacharma Command Tank connected to Garacharma Water Treatment Plant on 26.05.2025. Further, water supply will also be partially affected in these areas on May 27, 2025.
Hence, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal officials related to water supply have been informed accordingly to take necessary action to prevent undue hardship to public. Tanker supply will be available from Jawahar Sarover Treatment Plant during this period. Further, the general public have been advised to conserve water and use available water judiciously during this period.
