
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 17: The CID Unit (Crime & Economic Offences Wing), Andaman & Nicobar Police, has registered a criminal case in connection with an organized honey trap and extortion network operating in Sri Vijaya Puram. Four accused persons have been booked for allegedly luring the complainant through social media contact, administering an intoxicant, wrongfully confining him, and extorting ₹50,000/- through UPI-based transactions by threatening false criminal accusations.
As per the complaint received victim came into contact with a woman through a Quack Quack dating app. Subsequent communication was carried out via WhatsApp. On 07/02/2026, victim was allegedly lured to a house near Dhanikhari junction on the pretext of meeting for coffee.
The complainant has alleged that he was administered an intoxicating substance in a soft drink, rendering him unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, he found himself partially undressed, while two women and one man were present and allegedly recording photographs/videos. The accused persons allegedly threatened to implicate him in a false criminal case and create a public scene. He was further wrongfully confined and coerced into transferring ₹50,000/- through UPI transactions.
Based on the complaint and preliminary enquiry, four accused persons 1) Vinitha Kumari, D/o Late Assis Kumar, (35) Yrs, R/o Prothrapur, 2) Manjit Kaur @ Manu D/o Late Gurdeep Singh, (38) Yrs, Pvt Worker R/o Dhanikhadi near Big Basket, 3) Roshni Kumari @ Riya @ Aliana, D/o Shri Sukdev, (28)Yrs, R/o Garacharma, 4) Samrat Bairagi, S/o Shri Dayal Bairagi, (38) Yrs, R/o Dhanikhari have been identified and arrested. Necessary legal action has been initiated under the relevant provisions of the BNS, 2023. Investigation is in progress, including financial trail analysis and digital evidence examination.
