DBRAIT in Association with IEI-ANSC Organises Invited Expert Lecture on “Energy Conservation Act” in Observance of Energy Conservation Day 2025

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 18: The Research and Innovation Cell of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Sri Vijaya Puram, in association with the Institution of Engineers (India), Andaman & Nicobar State Centre (IEI–ANSC), organized an Invited Expert Lecture on the “Energy Conservation Act” in observance of Energy Conservation Day 2025 as part of Energy Conservation Week (14–20 December 2025).

The programme was held on 18th December 2025 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the Conference Hall, Green Building, DBRAIT. The invited lecture was delivered by Commandant Naresh Kumar, FIE, Indian Coast Guard, presently serving as Regional Technical Officer, ICG, Sri Vijaya Puram, and a Certified Energy Auditor.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Muthu Kumaran E, Dean (Research & Innovation), DBRAIT, who highlighted the importance of energy conservation and the role of academic institutions in promoting sustainable practices.

In his expert talk, Commandant Naresh Kumar elaborated on the significance, objectives, and implementation of the Energy Conservation Act, emphasizing energy efficiency, energy auditing, and compliance measures, supported by practical insights and real-life examples from his professional experience.

The resource person was felicitated by Er. Shankar Rao, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, DBRAIT. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Er. Arun Bepari, MIE, IEI–Andaman & Nicobar State Centre.

Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and students from various departments actively participated in the programme and benefitted by gaining valuable knowledge and awareness on energy conservation and sustainable energy practices.
