Mayabunder, Oct. 28: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Sushant Padha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman yesterday in connection with the conduct of the Sardar@150 Rashtriya Ekta Padyatra to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
The objective of the meeting was to plan and coordinate various activities to be organized across the district as part of the celebration. Officers/officials from different Departments, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, and members from educational institutions attended the meeting and assured their cooperation for the successful implementation of the programmes.
The Rashtriya Ekta Padyatra is scheduled to be held on Nov. 7 from Danapur Junction to Mini Stadium, Mayabunder, with participation expected around 500 representatives of government departments, colleges, schools and Panchayats.
In addition to the Padyatra, several pre-event activities such as Quiz Competitions, Health Camps, Lecture Presentations, and Cleanliness Drives will be organized from Nov. 1 to 6 by various Departments and educational institutions across the district.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all Departments, educational institutions, and Panchayat members assured their support and cooperation towards the successful organization of the programmes commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
