
Bakultala, Dec. 30: In order to ensure effective supervision and hands-on capacity building of Surveyor Trainees, the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, under the leadership of Shri Sushant Padha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner has initiated a structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) programme for Second Year Surveyor Trainees of ITI, Bakultala.
The Surveyor Trainees (second year) of ITI, Bakultala have been engaged for a period of 15 days with effect from 22.12.2025 and have been attached to experienced Surveyors/S&D currently posted in the three sub-divisions of the district namely Rangat, Diglipur and Mayabunder.
Under this arrangement, the designated Surveyors/S&D will guide, supervise and utilize the services of the trainees to impart practical exposure to field-level survey operations. The trainees will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the concerned Assistant Commissioners of the respective sub-divisions.
The training will provide the trainees with valuable insights into ground-level challenges and practical issues encountered during survey operations, thereby equipping them with essential field-oriented knowledge crucial for their future professional roles.
On successful completion of the On-the-Job Training, the trainees will be felicitated with certificates by the Deputy Commissioner which will serve as a significant encouragement and support in their future academic and professional endeavours.
This initiative reflects the Administration’s commitment to skill development and strengthening technical competencies among young trainees by providing real-time field exposure under experienced officials thereby enhancing their professional readiness.
