
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 27: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services organized Veterinary Health Camps in all parts of the Islands to provide Animal Health Care Services in rural remote areas with the objective to enhance livestock health, boost productivity and strengthen rural livelihoods. A weeklong schedule of Camps were organized by the Veterinary Hospital, Ramkrishnapur providing essential veterinary healthcare, preventive care, deworming and infertility treatment. Awareness on good management practices were also created. Interactive sessions were held, wherein the farmers exhibited keen interest on Departmental schemes seeking subsidy.
Similarly, a series of Animal Health Camps were organized by Veterinary Hospital, Rangat. Establishing outreach with remotest parts, Camps were also conducted at Shashtri Nagar, Gandhinagar and Laxminagar by Veterinary Hospital Campbell Bay. Mass Deworming-cum-Health Camps were organized by Veterinary Dispensary Rangachang and Veterinary Hospital Webi. Similar Camps were organized by Veterinary Dispensary Manglutan and Veterinary Dispensary Swaraj Dweep. During the camps, a total of 2394 animals were dewormed and treated whereas a total number of 5401 poultry cases were treated.
