Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 3: The Department of Environment & Forests, A & N Administration is organizing a Mangrove Workshop on 21st and 22nd March, 2026 at Sri Vijaya Puram. The workshop aims at bringing together the experts, researcher, scientists, forest officials, teachers, students, public and other stakeholders to a common platform to discuss, deliberate and disseminate various aspects of recent trends in mangrove conservation and management in the country in general and A & N Islands in particular.
In this regard, papers are invited in the following themes from research scholars, subject experts and those who are involved in scientific management of mangroves to be presented in the workshop:
•Role of mangrove in coastal protection and climate change mitigation.
•Mangrove bio-diversity & associated marine life.
•Scope of eco-tourism in mangrove forests.
•Mangrove restoration techniques and best practices.
•Community participation & livelihood potentials linked to mangroves.
