
Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 12: A one-day workshop-cum-training programme on prevention and control of snake bite envenoming was organised by Directorate of Health Services in association with National Health Mission today at District Hospital Garacharma.
Dr. Subrata Saha, State Nodal Officer, Prevention & Control of Snake bite Envenoming highlighted the critical role of healthcare workers in reducing mortality and morbidity caused by snake bites. Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gosh, MPH, District Public Health Officer(S/A), focused on key aspects such as early identification of snake bites, first aid measures, community awareness strategies and importance of timely medical intervention. The programme concluded with a discussion on challenges faced by healthcare professionals in handling snake bite cases.
