Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 10: The Directorate of Education, in collaboration with the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA), will be organizing the Bal Chess Utsav 2025 – School Chess Championship from 14th to 15th November 2025 at the Marine Workshop Hall, ITI, Dollygunj, as part of the Children’s Day celebrations. The championship will feature competitions for school children under the categories of Under 7, Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, and Under 19. The eligibility criteria for each category are; Under 7 – born on or after 01.01.2019; Under 9 – born on or after 01.01.2017; Under 11 – born on or after 01.01.2015; Under 13 – born on or after 01.01.2013; Under 15 – born on or after 01.01.2011; and Under 19 – born on or after 01.01.2009.
There will be no entry fee for the championship; however, AICF registration for the year 2025–26 is mandatory for all participants. This event will also serve as a selection platform for the National Junior (Under 19) Chess Championship 2025.
