Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 23: A state-level training workshop was conducted at the Directorate of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj Institutions, and Urban Local Bodies (RD, PRIs & ULBs) to brief panchayat-level functionaries on the eGramSwaraj portal.
Consultants from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) led the session, providing a detailed overview of the eGramSwaraj platform and its integration with the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) module.
The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the Shri. Bijoy Kumar Das State Nodal Officer (RGSA), followed by the inaugural address delivered by Smti. KA Prameela, Assistant Director RD/P, who emphasized the transformative potential of digital financial management tools in local self-governance.
The workshop targeted key panchayat staff, including Panchayat Secretaries, SPMU, BPMU, DPMU and personnel from accounting sections. The training emphasized the importance of integrating the PFMS system into planning and monitoring processes. This integration is a key initiative aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in financial management within the rural panchayats.
