Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 9: In a significant move to boost tourism, the Directorate of Shipping Services, under the directives of the A&N Administration has announced the commencement of a new fortnightly round-voyage cruise service to Barren Island from Sri Vijaya Puram. This landmark service from Sri Vijaya Puram would provide a unique round sea voyage offering spectacular views of the lone active volcano in the Indian sub-continent.
The round voyage to Barren Island will operate fortnightly subject to weather conditions. The service will commence its inaugural voyage on Friday, the 24th of October, 2025 from Haddo Wharf, Sri Vijaya Puram. This is a round trip from Sri Vijaya Puram to Barren Island and back with no disembarkation at Barren Island.
Trips for Govt. School students will be planned separately. Tickets for this exclusive voyage can be booked through online via the Directorate of Shipping Services e-ticketing portal (https://dss.andamannicobar.gov.in/eticketing) with effect from Oct. 11. There will be a single uniform fare for this voyage.
Schedule details:
•Departure from Haddo Wharf, Sri Vijaya Puram: Fortnightly on Fridays at 9 PM.
•Arrival at Barren Island vicinity: Early Saturday morning.
•Departure from Barren Island vicinity: Saturday at 8 AM.
•Arrival at Sri Vijaya Puram: Saturday at approximately 4 PM.

CORAL SUITE (2 Berth accommodation): Rs. 8310/- per head
REEF SUITE (4 Berth accommodation): Rs. 6340/- per head
ISLAND BREEZE (6 Berth accommodation): Rs. 4290/- per head
LAGOON (16/ 24 Berth Dormitory): Rs. 3180/- per head
Food will be provided for the entire round voyage for an additional charge of Rs. 2,000/- per passenger. This inclusive meal coupon covers Bed Tea/Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, High Tea. Passengers are required to purchase the food coupon from the reception counter post boarding the vessel.
