
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: International Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated at Abbhyuday Complex, Ferrargunj today under the Directorate of Social Welfare with great enthusiasm. The event aimed to celebrate the abilities and contributions of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and to promote awareness about their rights and well being.
Shri. Ravinder Kumar, Director, Social Welfare graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of the institution in creating a supportive environment for children with special needs and emphasized the importance of empowerment, equal opportunities, and dignity for every child. Medical Officer, PHC Ferrargunj also attended the program.
Earlier, the program commenced with inaugural address by Smti. Sheela Kar, Incharge Abbhyuday Complex Ferrargunj who emphasized the importance of fostering an inclusive society where every individual’s abilities are recognized and celebrated.
Various programs like singing, dancing, drawing and sports activities were organized for children to showcase their talents. Following the competition, the chief guest distributed prizes to the winners and encouraged all children to continue exploring their skills and abilities. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Smti. Irene Nicolas, CDPO, Ferrargunj.
