District Administration Carries Out Major Encroachment Eviction Drives at Austinabad and Brookshabad

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 30: The District Administration, South Andaman in its continuous efforts to preserve community spaces and to ensure lawful use of public property has been keeping strict vigil and monitoring and government land is being restored back from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in past few days in South Andaman District.

A major eviction drive was carried out today at Austinabad and Brookshabad villages. During the operation, Revenue officials removed encroachments comprising fencing and four temporary structures erected on government land at Austinabad village, along with two temporary structures at Brookshabad village. An area measuring approximately 4,500 Square Meter of Government Revenue Land has been restored to its original shape by the District Revenue authorities.

Residents are strongly urged to refrain from unauthorized occupations, as stringent legal action will be taken against violators. To strengthen public participation in this initiative, the District Administration, South Andaman has provided multiple avenues for reporting encroachments or illegal constructions.
