Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 18: Pursuing its zero-tolerance policy towards land encroachments, the District Administration, South Andaman conducted a major eviction drive at Caddlegunj village under Ferrargunj Tehsil, targeting unauthorized encroachments on Government Revenue land.
The operation drive was spearheaded by the Revenue Department with active coordination and support from the Police Department successfully cleared encroachments spread across approximately 16,000 square metres of land recorded under Government khata. Temporary structures and fencing standing over the aforesaid land was removed.
To ensure the smooth execution of the drive, heavy machinery, including a Hitachi excavator, was deployed for the demolition and clearance. The unauthorized structures were systematically dismantled, and the encroached area was promptly restored to its original status, reaffirming the Administration’s firm commitment to safeguarding public land and preventing illegal occupation.
