
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 1: Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme, the ICDS Urban Project organized a special programme to felicitate the CBSE girl toppers of Classes X and XII for the academic year 2024-25.
The event was graced by Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) as the Chief Guest, along with the HoD (Political Science) and Child Development Project Officer (Urban Project).
The Deputy Commissioner felicitated the achievers with mementoes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
Welcoming the dignitaries, students, parents, and teachers, the CDPO highlighted the objectives of the BBBP scheme and elaborated on the various welfare initiatives of the Government of India aimed at safeguarding and empowering the girl child.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman underlined the importance of girls’ education and their vital role in building a progressive society. He urged parents to provide equal opportunities to their daughters and sons and stressed the significance of career guidance in helping children achieve their aspirations.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Smti. Anjali Bachhar, Supervisor, ICDS Urban Project, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and stakeholders for their support and encouragement.
