District Administration, South Andaman Acts Against Illegal Extraction of Earth at Sippighat

Sippighat, Dec. 22: The District Administration, South Andaman has taken prompt and stringent action against the illegal extraction of earth in Sippighat Village, Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the protection of government land and strict enforcement of land and revenue laws.

During field inspection, the Revenue team detected unauthorized extraction of earth being carried out with the use of a Hitachi/excavator. Taking serious cognizance of this unlawful activity, the revenue authorities immediately intervened and seized the excavator at the site, and initiated statutory proceedings under the relevant provisions of the Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulations (LR & LRR). Further action against the persons involved is being pursued strictly in accordance with law.

The District Administration has categorically stated that illegal mining and unauthorized extraction of earth will not be tolerated under any circumstances. All individuals or entities found indulging in such illegal acts shall face strict penal action, including seizure of machinery and prosecution, without any exception. Any attempt to bypass or undermine legal procedures will invite firm and exemplary consequences.

The District Administration, South Andaman, also appeals to the general public to remain vigilant and to strictly adhere to all statutory provisions governing land use, excavation, and allied activities.
