Ferrargunj, Jan 23: In continuation to the eviction drive conducted earlier, the District Administration, South Andaman carried out further eviction operations today at Govindapuram and Shoal Bay villages of Ferrargunj Tehsil.
During the eviction drive, encroachments on Government land as well as on Government roads were removed with the assistance of Revenue field functionaries. The operation was conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner ensuring restoration of public property for its intended use.
As a result of the eviction drive, an area measuring approximately 0.20 hectares of Government land was retrieved and restored back to the Government. Further, obstructions on the Government road were completely cleared, facilitating free and safe movement of the public.
The District Administration reiterates its commitment to protect Government land and public infrastructure from unauthorized encroachments and appeals to the general public to refrain from illegal occupation of Government property. Such drives will continue in a sustained manner to ensure compliance with the law and to safeguard public interest.
