Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 27: Under the supervision of ANTCC President, A & N Islands, Shri Rangalal Halder, the District Congress Committee (South Andaman), led by President Shri John Robert Babu, observed the Adoption of the Constitution Day of India (Samvidhan Bachao Divas) on the 26th of November, 2025 at the Congress Office, Port Blair.
The programme underscored the collective responsibility of every citizen and institution to uphold the foundational values enshrined in the Constitution—Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity.
Many Speakers from the party emphasized the importance of safeguarding the Constitution amid growing challenges to democratic institutions.
A key segment of the event focused on the growing concerns over electoral malpractices, specifically the manipulation of electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Party leaders expressed strong concern that these distortions weaken democratic participation and compromise electoral fairness.
The Congress Party observes Samvidhan Bachao Divas not only to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution but also to reaffirm its commitment to protecting democracy, defending citizens’ rights, and preserving the constitutional ethos of India.
The programme witnessed the presence of Several Senior Party Leaders, including Shri G Bhasker AICC Member & Chairman, Campaign Committee, Shri.
