Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 10: In line with the directive issued by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to conduct monthly mock drills across Departments for strengthening preparedness and promoting discipline, the Directorate of Shipping Services conducted a Landslide Scenario Mock Drill yesterday at Marine Dockyard, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The drill was conducted under the supervision of the Nodal Officer Disaster Management, DSS and saw active participation from employees of the Dockyard Canteen, Moulding Shop, Black Smith Shop and Marine Dispensary at Marine Dockyard.
As part of the exercise, a total of 51 employees including 01 injured person were successfully evacuated to the safe area and first aid was given to the injured person. The entire exercise was carried out in a coordinated manner, demonstrating efficient response protocols and inter-agency cooperation under the overall supervision of Deputy Director (Shipping), DSS.
