DSS Launches 24×7 Online Facility for Booking Monthly Harbour Sector Passes

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 3: In a significant step towards enhancing public convenience and strengthening citizen-centric services, the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) has launched a 24×7 online facility for booking Monthly Harbour Sector Passes.

This initiative has been introduced in response to long-standing public demand and with the objective of providing accessibility to daily commuters. The move aligns with the Government’s vision of E-Governance, ensuring that essential transport services are accessible to citizens anytime and from anywhere without the hassle of visiting the ticket counter.

The online booking facility for Monthly Passes is being provided in addition to the existing manual ticket counters, which will continue to operate as usual. Commuters may avail either the online system or the counter-based service, as per their convenience, ensuring flexibility. The application has been developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) team at Sri Vijaya Puram.

The Directorate of Shipping Services reiterates its strong commitment to public service, commuter convenience, transparency, and continuous improvement of transport services. This initiative reflects DSS’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and adopt technology-driven solutions to deliver efficient and people-centric maritime transport.

The Directorate of Shipping Services is committed to safe, reliable, accessible and public-centric maritime transport.
