Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 11: The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri L. Kumar, IAS has informed that the Election Commission of India has revised the Scheduled of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands superseding the earlier schedule issued on 27.10.2025 and 30.11.2025.
The revised schedule is as under:
1. Enumeration period: By 18.12.2025 (Thursday)
2. Publication of Draft Electoral Rolls: 23rd December, 2025 (Tuesday)
3. Period of filing Claims & Objection: 23rd December, 2025 (Tuesday) to 22nd January, 2026 (Thursday)
4. Notice Phase (Issuance, hearing & Verification); Decision on Enumeration Forms and disposal of claims and objections to be done concurrently by the EROs: 23rd December, 2025 (Tuesday) to 14th February, 2026 (Saturday)
5. Final Publication of Electoral Roll: 21st February, 2026 (Saturday)
The enumeration period, which was earlier scheduled upto 11th December, 2025, has now been extended by the Commission, and the revised last date for submission of the Enumeration Form is 18th December, 2025.
The CEO has appealed to all electors of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to submit the Enumeration Forms already distributed by the Booth Level Officers during the ongoing SIR before the revised deadline of 18th December, 2025. Electors are further advised that those who fail to submit the form by the deadline will not have their names included in the Draft Electoral Roll scheduled for publication on 23rd December, 2025.
The CEO emphasized that the ongoing enumeration exercise is a crucial step toward ensuring an accurate, error-free, and inclusive electoral roll. Electors who have already received the forms are urged to submit them at the earliest and avoid waiting until the last date to prevent any last-minute inconvenience.
The CEO appealed to all eligible electors and political parties to extend full cooperation and actively participate in the democratic process by submitting their duly filled Enumeration Forms to the Booth Level Officer (BLOs) or at the help desks at the offices of the DEO/AERO at the earliest.
